KLIMAWIN

The KLIMAWIN initiative was created as part of the sustainability strategy of the state of Baden-Württemberg. This initiative builds on the WIN Charter, which has developed into an important sustainability instrument for the economy in Baden-Württemberg since it was founded in 2014. LGI Logistics Group International (hereinafter referred to as LGI) signed the WIN Charter in April 2020, thereby acknowledging its economic, ecological and social responsibility.

The aim of KLIMAWIN is to support sustainably committed and responsible companies. The initiative represents a voluntary commitment to sustainability and serves as proof of a company’s social, ecological and economic responsibility.

LGI signs Klimawin – Initiative of the state of Baden-Württemberg

By signing up to KLIMAWIN, companies pledge to adhere to the twelve guiding principles of KLIMAWIN and to further increase their sustainability. KLIMAWIN is based on the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and offers a comprehensive framework for reporting on climate protection and sustainability measures, even if it does not fully cover the requirements of the CSRD. Companies submit annual reports on their climate protection and sustainability measures based on the twelve guiding principles of KLIMAWIN. In addition, each company supports a local charitable project. KLIMAWIN is based on self-commitment, initiative and external communication.

LGI focuses on the following three guiding principles of KLIMAWIN:

  • Guiding principle 1 – Climate protection: We set ourselves a climate protection target and report on it. We use renewable energies and increase energy efficiency.
  • Guiding principle 5 – Product responsibility: We take responsibility for our services and products by examining the sustainability of the value creation process and the product cycle and creating transparency in this regard.
  • Guiding principle 7 – Employee rights and well-being: We respect, protect and promote the well-being and interests of our employees.

Following a successful collaboration with the “Waldweide” nature conservation project in the Herrenberg municipal forest – Gültstein district in the years 2020 to 2022, LGI is now devoting itself to a social initiative. Since summer 2023, LGI has been supporting the Tennentaler Dorfgemeinschaft e. V. The inclusive village community, which is currently home to around 200 people with and without assistance needs, offers a wide range of public services as well as integration assistance in a variety of residential, day-care and socio-cultural settings.
