LGI Technical Logistics
In February, LGI’s parent company Elanders acquired almost 90% of the shares in the UK company Bishopsgate. Bishopsgate is a leading player in the UK within the areas of special transport, installation and configuration of medical equipment, office printers, data centers, parcel lockers and charging stations for e-mobility. This acquisition complements LGI’s existing network in the field of technical logistics.
These services include transportation to and from the point of use, including installation and de-installation, as well as other technical services. LGI’s Europe-wide network comprises a good mix of its own infrastructure, which is being successively expanded, and long-standing specialist partners. LGI has its own infrastructure in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and the UK. It uses its own special vehicles and equipment to move sensitive, bulky or heavy goods. This includes, for example, air-suspended, temperature-controlled trucks with GPS tracking as well as special stair climbers and lifting equipment.
Bishopsgate employs around 250 logistics experts in the UK. This acquisition not only strengthens the LGI network, but also the strategic focus on increasing the proportion of value-added services in the Electronics & Healthcare sector.
