The LGI Logistics Group International GmbH and its affiliates (LGI) wish to thank you for visiting our website and expressing interest in our company and services. We’re serious about protecting your personal data and treating it confidentially. We want you to feel comfortable and safe while visiting our website as well as during any communication and contact with us.

We process personal data in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) of the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU-GDPR) for the purpose of performance the existing contractual relationship as well as in the context of business handling and business initiation, in the event of voluntary consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) EU-GDPR or to safeguard our legitimate interests pursuant to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) EU-GDPR. As the responsible party under Art. 4 para. 7 EU-GDPR, we would also like to inform you with this information on data protection when we store which data and how we use them when you visit our website.

Statutory amendments and changes to our company’s in-house procedures require that this data privacy statement be adjusted occasionally. Therefore, please read the current data privacy statement on our homepage periodically.

1. Information on the processing of personal data

Personal data is information about a natural person whose identity is known or identifiable, such as that person’s name, address, email address and telephone number. Information which cannot be connected to a natural person is not deemed personal data.

Processing means any operations executed with or without the help of automatic processes, or a series of such operations, in connection with personal data. It includes collecting, recording, organising, arranging, storing, adjusting, altering, reading, retrieving, using, disclosing through transmission, disseminating or otherwise providing, comparing, linking, restricting, deleting or destroying the data. We only process personal data of minors who are at least 16 years of age. If a minor has not yet reached the age of 16, personal data will only be processed if and insofar as the minor’s legal guardian has given his written authorisation.

2. Processing, forwarding and earmarking personal data

When you establish contact with us via email or an online contact form, we will process the data you communicate (your email address, and possibly your name and telephone number) to answer your inquiries. We will delete the data accumulated in this way after we no longer need it for processing, or will limit the data’s processing if we are obligated to retain it by law.

If you visit our website, it is standard procedure for our webservers to store, inter alia, information about the browser and operating system you use, the website from which you are visiting us, the websites you visit during your session, the date of the visit and, for security reasons (such as to recognise attacks on our website), the IP address allocated to you by your internet service provider.

We will use your personal data to technically administer the website, manage customers, and handle inquiries and marketing, but only as needed. Obviously, participation in such measures is voluntary.Personal data will be transmitted to government institutions and authorities only due to compulsory national statutory regulations. We obligate our employees to confidentiality.

3. Online application and job opportunities within the LGI Group

Your personal data is processed by companies in the LGI group of companies for the purposes of application preparation, the application process or the employment relationship that may result from an application process on the basis of Article 6 paragraph 1 a), b) or f) of the EU Data Protection Regulation (“EU-DSGVO”). Prior to hiring, this includes comparing the personal data (e.g. name, date of birth, place of birth, nationality) of those applicants whom we are considering hiring as a result of the application process with entries in sanctions lists, such as the EU terrorism list in particular, as defined by the EU anti-terrorism regulations. This serves on the one hand to enter into an employment contract with the applicants concerned and on the other hand to fulfill a legal obligation to which the LGI group of companies is subject [Article 6 para. 1 c) EU-DSGVO], since legal regulations prohibit the provision of financial benefits, including the payment of wages, to persons who are on the corresponding sanctions lists. If we process your personal data on the basis of Article 6 Paragraph 1 f) EU-DSGVO, this is based on the LGI Group’s justified interest in an efficient and uniform application process throughout the Group.

We will not disclose your personal data to third parties unless we are legally obliged to do so in exceptional cases due to legal requirements (e.g. to law enforcement authorities on suspicion of a criminal offence).

If you agree that the applicant data you provide in the online application tool (e.g. contact details, qualifications, application documents, etc.) may be passed on to companies within the LGI Group for the purpose of a group-wide application and job placement process in order to check your application for suitable positions, you can click on the appropriate button to do so.

Your application data will be stored and deleted in accordance with the statutory provisions.

4. Newsletter

You can subscribe to newsletters on our website. The data you provide in the newsletter registration will be used only to send the newsletter, unless you agree to use beyond that. You can end the subscription at any time. There is a deregistration link at the end of every newsletter (“deregister from newsletter”).

5. Cookies

We use so-called cookies on our site for the recognition of multiple use of our offer by the same users*inside or Internet connection owners*inside. Cookies are small text files that your Internet browser stores on your computer. Cookies do not cause any damage to your computer and do not contain any viruses. They serve only to optimize our internet presence and our offers. These are usually so-called “session cookies”, which are deleted after the end of your visit. In some cases, however, these cookies provide information in order to automatically recognize you. This recognition is based on the IP address stored in the cookies. The information obtained in this way serves to optimise our offers and to make it easier for you to access our website.

You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website. More information about cookies and how to check which cookies have been stored, how to manage and delete them can be found here.

6. Use of Google Analytics

Our website uses Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies, text files that are stored on your computer and allow us to analyse how you use our website. The information the cookie generates about your use of our website is normally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. Cookies do not damage your computer and contain no viruses. However, if IP anonymisation is activated on this website, Google will truncate your IP address within the member states of the European Union or in the other contracting party states to the EEA Agreement. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and truncated there.

This happens in cases where the servers in the EEA that support the Analytics Collection Network are unavailable due to unforeseen exceptional events. On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate how you use the website, compile reports about website activities, and render additional services for us which are connected with the use of the website and the internet. The IP address transmitted as part of Google Analytics will not be pooled with other Google data. To ensure personal data is handled in compliance with data protection laws, we have concluded a contract with Google Analytics to process order-related data.

You can prevent the cookies from being stored by adjusting your browser software accordingly, but we must point out that if you do, you will not be able to use all of this website’s functions to their full extent. You can also prevent Google from recording and processing the data generated by the cookie which relates to your use of the website (including your IP address) by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available here.

We also use Google Analytics to evaluate data from AdWords and the DoubleClick cookie for statistical purposes. If you do not wish for this to happen, you can deactivate this process via the Ads Preferences Manager. You will find more information about usage conditions and data protection here.

Please note that, on our website, Google Analytics is expanded by the code “gat. anonymizeIp();” to guarantee that IP addresses are captured anonymously (known as “IP masking”).

7. Use of Hotjar

Our website uses Hotjar, an analysis software from Hotjar Ltd. (https://www.hotjar.com, Level 2, St Julian’s Business Centre, 3, Elia Zammit Street, St Julian’s STJ 1000, Malta, Europe). Hotjar makes it possible to measure and evaluate user behaviour (clicks, mouse movements, scroll height, etc.) on our website. The information about your visit to our website generated as part of this process, through the “tracking code” and “cookie”, will be transmitted to the Hotjar server in Ireland and stored there. This section describes in detail how Hotjar collects data from your browser and end device if you access our website. For the purposes of the services Hotjar renders for this website, Hotjar functions as a contracted data processor. Hotjar processes all personal data exclusively in accordance with the instructions that Hotjar receives from us as the website provider. This also includes when Hotjar collects data from the end user’s browser or end device if an end user accesses this website. In addition, we have concluded an appropriate contract on commissioned data processing, which ensures that personal data will be handled sensitively and in compliance with the law.

The following information will be collected regarding the end user’s browser and end device:

  • The end device’s IP address (it will be collected and stored in anonymised form as described under Technical Information)
  • Screen resolution of the end device
  • Type of end device (individual identifying features of end device), operating system and browser type
  • Geographic location (country only)
  • The language preferred for the ads of the Hotjar-based website
  • User interactions:
    • Mouse events (movements, position and clicks)
    • Keyboard input
    • Log data

Our server automatically uses random sampling to record information collected from Hotjar-based websites. These data include:

  • Referring domain
  • Pages visited
  • Geographic location (country only)
  • The language preferred for the ads of the website
  • Date and time the website’s pages were accessed

If you oppose the collection and analysis of information about your visit to our website, you can deny Hotjar permission to collect your data at any time, by visiting Hotjar’s opt-out page and clicking “Deactivate Hotjar”.

8. Bing Universal Event Tracking

Our website uses Bing Ads Universal Event Tracking, a conversion tracking service provided by Microsoft (Microsoft Corporation, One Microsoft Way, Redmond, WA 98052-6399, USA). This service allows us to track activity on our site if you access our website via a Bing ad. This is done by setting a cookie (small text file) on your device when you click on a Microsoft Bing Ads ad. In particular, Microsoft and we learn the total number of users who have clicked on an ad and reached a pre-defined landing page. This data is stored by Microsoft for 180 days.

You can find more information about the usage and privacy policies for this product here: https://privacy.microsoft.com/de-DE/privacystatement/

9. Social plug-ins

We use social plug-ins (hereafter “buttons”) from social networks such as Facebook and Xing.
When you visit our website, these buttons are deactivated as standard procedure (i.e., you will send no data to the respective social network unless you take action to do so). Before you can use the buttons, you must activate them with a click. The buttons will remain active until you deactivate them again or delete your cookies.
Activating a social network’s button will establish a direct connection to the server of that social network. The button’s content will then be transmitted from the social networks directly to your browser, which will incorporate those contents into the website.

After a social network’s button is activated, that social network can collect data whether you interact with the button or not. If you are logged into a social network, that social network can assign your visit of this website to your user account.
If you are a member of a social network and do not wish for that network to combine your stored member data with the data collected during your visit to our website, you must log out of the social network in question before you activate buttons.
We have no influence on the data collected by the social networks with your buttons. You must consult a social network’s own data privacy notice to learn the purpose and scope of data collection, how that social network will continue to process and use collected data, your rights in the matter, and options for changing settings to protect your privacy.

For information about Facebook’s privacy policy, please visit this site. Information on data protection at Xing can be found here.

10. Log files

Every time you use the Internet, certain information is automatically transmitted by your Internet browser and stored by us in so-called log files. The log files are stored by us for a short period of time to identify malfunctions and security reasons (e.g. to clarify attempted attacks) and then deleted. Log files, the further storage of which is required for evidence purposes, are excluded from deletion until the respective incident has been finally clarified and can be passed on to investigative authorities in individual cases. Log files are also used for analysis purposes (without or without a complete IP address). In particular, the following information is stored in the log files:

  • IP address (Internet Protocol address) of the terminal from which the online platform is accessed.
  • Internet address of the website from which the online platform was accessed (so-called origin or referrer URL)
  • Name of the service provider used to access the online platform;
  • Name of the retrieved files or information
  • date and time as well as duration of retrieval
  • the amount of data transferred
  • Operating system and information on the Internet browser used, including installed add-ons (e.g. for Flash Player)
  • http status code (e.g. “Request successful” or “requested file not found

11. Security

We implement technical and organisational security measures to ensure that your data which we process is protected against manipulation, loss, destruction and unauthorised access. Our security measures are continually improved to keep up with technological advancements.

Among other things, we use SSL encryption on our website for security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as the requests you send to us as the site operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line. If SSL encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.

12. Your rights

Under the EU GDPR, you have the following rights towards us regarding the personal data which concerns you:

  • Right to information (Art. 15 EU GDPR)
  • Right to correction or deletion (Articles 16 and 17 EU GDPR)
  • Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 EU GDPR)
  • Right to data portability (Art. 20 EU GDPR)
  • Right to object to the processing (Art. 21 EU GDPR)

Asserting these rights against LGI requires the text form and can be directed to the following email address: balazs_venter@lgi.de.
