LGI Technical Logistics delivers for the drupa trade fair
LGI Technical Logistics (TLO) has many customers from the printing technology sector. For them, the drupa trade fair is of the utmost importance. LGI Technical Logistics in the Netherlands has adapted to this and helped with an extra team to make the customers’ trade fair appearance successful.
With over 1,900 exhibitors and a range of more than 5,500 products, drupa is the world’s leading trade fair for printing technologies. Every four years, manufacturers, service providers and users meet in Düsseldorf, including this year from the end of May to the beginning of June. LGI counts leading players in this industry among its customers. Of course, they will also be supported with suitable services for the trade fair.
Planning for this highlight began as early as the fourth quarter of 2023: Which machines will it be, what type of transport will be needed, how many LGI engineers will be involved, when and in what time windows can delivery to the exhibition grounds take place? Over time, the mosaic gradually gave a clearer picture.
After all the necessary preparations, we were able to start the operational implementation of the activities weeks in advance. The first machines and parts arrived at LGI’s Ruurlo (Netherlands) site in April. All activities were carried out by our team of TLO specialists: transport, unpacking, unpacking of machine and parts, configuration at our own location, final transport to Dusseldorf and on-site installation of the machine together with the customer specialists.
For one of our customers, the machines were picked up from their various European showrooms, for another customer, we installed over 13 machines in one week with a dedicated LGI team of 8 engineers.
Already on the last day of the fair, we started dismantling the machines in order to send them back or bring them to the location of the final new owners. This was all efficiently planned and reported to keep customers informed about the status of their products.
