THE LGI HEALTHCARE MOBILE ROLLS THROUGH THE COUNTRY
After the first test runs of the Mercedes-Benz Actros GigaSpace, which was specially converted for this purpose, on June 16, more than 600 employees at various LGI and ITG locations were vaccinated in the first two weeks.
What happens when logistics professionals are faced with the challenge of launching a vaccination campaign at short notice? Quite simply, they quickly convert a Mercedes-Benz Actros GigaSpace into a fully equipped vaccination mobile with a doctor’s room, kitchen, bathroom, cold storage room and necessary IT infrastructure. At the same time, appointments were made, the prioritization of locations and thus the itinerary were planned.
The Health Care Mobil was first deployed on June 16 Headquarters of ITG in Schwaig, located in the immediate vicinity of Munich Airport. In combination with a vaccination station installed on the premises, 175 employees were vaccinated there for the first time on a voluntary basis within two working days. The Health Care Mobile then traveled to North Rhine-Westphalia to continue the vaccinations at LGI Sites in Hünxe, Oberhausen and Herten. Currently, more than 600 employees of LGI Logistics Group International GmbH have already been vaccinated. Depending on the availability of vaccines, the vaccinations will gradually be continued at other LGI and ITG company locations.
Employees of external companies also benefit from the vaccination offer
“We are proud to have found a customized solution for our operational vaccinations within a short period of time. Our know-how as an end-to-end logistics service provider certainly helped us to build this Health Care Mobile so quickly and equip it according to the specifications of the Ministry of Health. In the fight against Corona, it is important for us to stick together. That is why we have decided to also offer vaccinations to employees of external companies, because only together can we find a way out of this crisis,” says Bernd Schwenger, CEO of LGI Logistics Group International GmbH.
No flash in the pan – Healthcare mobil remains in action even after the corona pandemic
After completion of the vaccination campaign, the Heath Care Mobil will perform other tasks in the company medical care of the LGI and ITG sites and will remain with the employees. The equipment with a special doctor’s room and sleeping facilities allows a self-sufficient and mobile use, which is trend-setting. In addition to planned on-site appointments, the vehicle can also react flexibly and quickly to spontaneous needs.
